This neat 1.3kWp PV array was funded through local and national government grant schemes. It generates a considerable proportion of the power required by a local Community Centre on the Isle of Wight. Great care is required on flat roofs to ensure that waterproofing is maintained, and that workers can move around the roof without danger and without damaging the equipment. Mounted in 3 bays each of 6 panels, this 2.34kWp array takes advantage of south- facing sloping covers to rooflights in a middle school. This solar generator passes its production data to the school's IT system, where it is incorporated into their website together with weather information. Note the anti-seagull spikes! Funding was by Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase 2 and local businesses. Back to Engenius home page ... |
